A USB flash drive consists of flash memory data storage device integrated with a USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface. USB flash drives are typically removable and rewritable, much smaller than a floppy disk.
Storage capacities can range from 64 MB to 256 GB with steady improvements in size and price per capacity. Some allow 1 million write or erase cycles and have 10-year data retention.
Corsair is now presenting a flash capacity of 128GB with name Flash Voyager GT 128GB.
Speed
One of the things that often complain when a read speed of flash is a relatively slow writes, especially if we have a flash with a capacity of 128GB. But things like that seem to have not become obstacles for Corsair Flash Voyager GT 128GB. Corsair claim that Voyager GT 128 GB can read 32MB/sec and write Up to 28MB/sec. Then what is the secret of speed for this gigantic flash? Corsair uses a dual-controller design to maximize the speed of reading and writing MLC NAND memory contained therein.
Size
When compared with the capacity of smaller storage Voyager certainly have a larger size. The entire body Corsair Flash Voyager GT 128GB wrapped with a rubber material which is dominated by black and orange colors. Rubber materials used also have their own advantages. Users do not need to worry if the product is dropped or exposed to water splashes. But unfortunately, there is no hook to cover this flash.
Strength
The Voyager GT 128 has no moving parts, making it virtually shockproof. Portable USB hard drives are much more susceptible to damage when dropped. The rubber housing and sealed construction provide water resistance so minor accidents don’t turn into major disasters.
In conclusion, if the user wants an alternative storage media with large capacity but practical (Light, Small and Strong), may Corsair Flash Voyager GT 128GB could be one option. Only, this flash price is quite draining pockets, around U.S. $ 379.
